A drunk waste collection driver working in Brooklyn, New York, plowed into nine cars, a tree and demolished a home’s front porch in an attempt to evade police the morning of June 9, ABC News reports.
According to the report, Anthony Castaldo, 40, was charged with driving while impaired, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and refusing to take a Breathalyzer.
Castaldo, who was driving for Viking Sanitation, Brooklyn, was immediately suspended according to the company.
"Our company has a long track record of safety, and we hold ourselves to high standards, including random drug testing for drivers," the company told ABC News in a statement. "It appears that this driver failed to adhere to our standards, and he was immediately suspended as part of the ongoing investigation of this serious incident."
No one was injured in the wreck.
