The Solid Waste Association of North America, Silver Spring, Maryland, has announced the launch of its new Hurricane Disaster Resources landing page, following Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

The landing page houses links, reports, and toolkits from SWANA and other industry and government organizations to help those looking for information on storm preparation, safety, and recovery.

“Following Hurricane Harvey, in response to the terrible flooding and other destruction in Texas and Louisiana, we decided to create a resources page for members and others impacted by this unprecedented storm," says David Biderman, SWANA Executive Director & CEO. "In light of the damage caused by Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean, Florida and the Southeast, we are likely to add additional resources for members and others in those areas.”

In the wake of these two terrible storms, the landing page will also be kept up-to-date on news coverage of the affected areas and recovery efforts, the association says. More resources and discussions dedicated to disaster management are available on SWANA’s online member forum, MySWANA,.

During these times of recovery and rebuilding, SWANA urges its members to use these resources and keep safety as their number one priority.
