The Amlon Group, a portfolio company of Connecticut-based Heartwood Partners, has acquired EcoWater Industries (operating as EcoWerks), an industrial waste services provider based in Port Arthur, Texas.
Amlon operates from offices in both New York and Texas with locations in Texas and Louisiana, while EcoWerks is an industrial waste-to-value processor that provides wastewater treatment, industrial equipment cleanout services, oil recovery and other services.
Additionally, EcoWerks operates a new permitted nonhazardous treatment, storage and disposal facility (TSDF) for nonhazardous materials. The company also possesses a variety of permits, including an industrial nonhazardous solid waste permit and publicly owned treatment works (POTW) pretreatment permit.
“We are excited for EcoWerks to join the Amlon team,” Amlon CEO Mark Wayne says. “Our expanded processing capabilities, increased capacity, permits and resources will help better serve each of our respective customers and support future growth.”
Heartwood Partners, a middle market private equity firm founded in 1982 with about $1.7 billion under management, has made investments in the food, agriculture, specialty chemicals, niche manufacturing, packaging and industrial and consumer services markets.
“We are pleased to support Amlon with this strategic acquisition," says Demetrios Dounis, a partner with Heartwood Partners. The acquisition of EcoWerks will help fuel Amlon’s continued mission to provide a broad selection of best-in-class waste processing services that are sustainable and environmentally friendly.”
