AJW, an Arlington, Virginia, AJW-inc.com consulting firm for private sector energy and environmental solution firms, has announced Virgil Welch has joined the firm as a partner in Sacramento, California. Virgil brings a wealth of experience to AJW. AJW says for more than a decade, Virgil has worked at the forefront of California's landmark efforts to address climate change, reduce air pollution and promote dean energy.
Since 2008, Virgil has served as special counsel to Chair Mary Nichols at the California Air Resources Board. Prior to that, Virgil worked as an attorney at the Environmental Defense Fund in California where he helped lead the organization's effort to pass AB 32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006.
As a top aide to Chair Nichols, Virgil built a reputation for innovative thinking, inclusiveness and fact-based analysis. He will focus on AJW's California presence and bolster AJW's existing capabilities to expand market opportunities for clients working to solve political, technological and market challenges in energy, dean air, climate change and sustainability. Virgil's first day with AJW will be April 1, 2016.
