William Hardrick, a 42-year-old WCA garbage truck driver from Princeton, Kentucky, was pronounced dead at the scene June 30 after he struck a semitractor-trailer blocking the road on US 641 outside of Eddyville, Kentucky.
Kentucky state police say 39-year-old Travis Rodden of Poinsett, Arkansas, was driving a tractor-trailer northbound on the road when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree. The trailer of the vehicle was blocking the southbound lane of the road, which Hardrick collided with.
Police say that Hardrick was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
WCA Territory Sales Representative Jeff Simms told News Edge that waste services at the company’s Princeton facility were closed July 1 to mourn the loss of Hardrick.
