Capital Waste acquires Florida hauling firm

Columbia, South Carolina-based Capital Waste Services LLC (CWS) has acquired Herrington Industries LLC of Palatka, Florida.

Herrington is a roll-off dumpster and landfill services provider in Palatka, which is in northern Florida about 50 miles from Jacksonville. According to CWS, Herrington operates one of the largest fully permitted construction and demolition (C&D) materials landfills in Northeast Florida, with that landfill having more than 50 years of remaining available capacity.

“We believe the Northern Florida market is ripe for future growth and view Herrington’s current roll-off network and disposal assets as a strong gateway to enter the region. CWS remains focused on continued acquisitions and growth throughout the Southeast.”

Capital Waste has been actively acquiring other waste hauling firms in the Southeast in the past two years, having made several acquisitions in South Carolina and Tennessee.

CWS now operates 13 hauling locations, eight transfer stations and six landfills in South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee serving 91,000 residential customers and approximately 17,000 commercial, industrial and post-collection customers.
