The Lincoln, Nebraska television station 10 11 Now is reporting on its website that a work release inmate was killed and another hurt in an accident at Mid-America Recycling in that city.
The men were hurt after a concrete divider fell over at the recycling facility April 14, 2016, according to the company's president.
The accident occurred when a skid-steer loader, driven by another employee, backed into a concrete divider, causing it to fall over and pin one of the employees and graze another, according to the report. The workers were outside, cleaning the area.
Dennis Hines, 58, died from injuries sustained in the accident. Jarrod Mittan, 46, was treated for nonlife threatening injuries at an area hospital.
An investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is expected.
