Germany-based pellet machinery producer Amandus Kahl has announced the appointment of Sebastian Mertens as its new managing director of technology.
Mertens takes over the role from Uwe Wehrmann, and he will work together with Wehrmann, Joachim Behrmann and Victoria Behrmann on the board of directors.
“I am very much looking forward to my new role,” Mertens says. “Amandus Kahl is a very well-positioned company and, together with our excellent team, we will proactively face the challenges ahead. We excel in quality and our ability to develop unique solutions for our customers. I would like to further strengthen this ability and extend it to our future markets.”
Born in Hamburg, Mertens joined the company in 2006, when he enrolled in the dual engineering and management program at Nordakademie. After graduating, he started at Amandus Kahl in the technical customer service department before being promoted in 2013 to assistant to the management. In 2016, he moved to the project management department, and two years later he was named deputy managing director of technology.
