The American Biogas Council (ABC), Washington, has announced the results of its annual board election. Five directors were reelected, and one new director has joined the board.
The ABC welcomes new director Jessica Linville-LeRoy, senior project manager at Tetra Tech. Linville-LeRoy has more than 17 years of experience developing biogas and renewable natural gas (RNG) projects across agricultural, landfill and other sectors. She has led multidisciplinary teams delivering complex projects and has been an active ABC member for more than a decade, including prior board service and ongoing leadership within the organization’s training and digester operator school programs.
Returning ABC board members include:
- Bernard Sheff, associate technical consultant at Burns and McDonnell, who has more than 35 years of experience in the biogas industry with a career focused on anaerobic digestion, nutrient recovery and agricultural waste management, particularly in the dairy sector. He is currently serving his sixth term as chair of the ABC board.
- Brian Langolf, biogas program director at the University of Wisconsin—Madison, who brings more than 20 years of professional experience in biogas research, operations and training. He is currently working on projects in organic waste to energy, soil health and nutrient management plans for farms, and has served on the ABC Board since 2017.
- Lizzy Reinholt, president of Peaks Renewables, Summit Utilities, Inc., who leads development, operations and strategy for Peaks Renewables, Summit Utilities’ renewable gas development company with a focus on scaling RNG and other low- and negative-carbon energy solutions.
- Mark Stoermann, COO at Newtrient LLC, who has more than 25 years of experience in renewable energy and more than 40 years in the dairy and food processing industries. His background includes leadership roles in anaerobic digestion, RNG development and nutrient recovery projects supporting dairy sustainability.
- Nathalie Hoffman, managing director of energy compliance services at Weaver, who leads the company's Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) consulting practice and is a member of the California Bar.
“These elected board members bring deep expertise from across the biogas industry—companies that transform organic waste into clean, locally produced energy and fertilizer,” ABC Executive Director Patrick Serfass says. “Their leadership will help drive the growth of a dynamic biogas industry that meets increasing energy demand by turning waste streams into American-made energy, while strengthening local economies and delivering real benefits to communities across the country.”
