When it comes to helping residents of Culver City, California, keep up with their waste disposal needs, there’s now an app for that, according to a report from the Culver City Observer.
This free mobile app, Recycle Coach, was developed by the company of the same name to give residents the information they need to be more informed about the city’s waste and recycling programs. By downloading the app, residents can see information tailored to their specific street address pertaining to regular and special collections, household hazardous waste pickup events, and more. The app also has a special “Report-a-Problem” feature. This feature allows residents to report non-emergency issues such as missed collections, illegal dumping or overflowing public garbage. All residents have to do is select the “Report-a-Problem” function, take a picture of the issue and the city will automatically be contacted.
"This is a new way for us to connect with residents about Culver City recycling programs,” Culver City Mayor Jeffrey Cooper says, according to the report. “City staff will be able to update the information on the mobile and web app as necessary during the year, so it will always be current. Residents will never forget a collection day, and that should lead to increased recycling diversion rates. Everybody wins!"
