Arglass, The Upcycling Co. partner to expand glass collection network

Arglass, a glass container manufacturer based in Valdosta, Georgia, and Beaufort, South Carolina-based The Upcycling Co. have entered a strategic venture to collect clean glass in communities in Georgia and northern Florida. The Upcycling Co. already collects clean glass across locations in Georgia and South Carolina.  

The agreement ties together glass collection, cullet processing and glass manufacturing in a vertical partnership the groups hope will support the circular economy. 

“We are excited to partner with The Upcycling Co. to create a new structure to recover and recycle glass containers,” says Jose de Diego Arozamena, founder and CEO of Arglass. “This partnership reinforces Arglass’ commitment to sustainability, one of our three founding principles.” 

The companies say the partnership will divert 210 million glass bottles from landfills every year, consume approximately 44,000 tons fewer raw materials and 3 million kilowatt-hours less energy and facilitate access to glass recycling programs for 1.7 million people.
