Aries Clean Energy, Franklin, Tennessee, announces that Robert Burke Jr. is joining the company as executive vice president and general counsel. Burke brings more than 25 years’ experience as general counsel for domestic and international energy companies to the Aries Clean Energy team.
“Bob’s experience includes mergers and acquisitions within the United States, Latin America and Europe. He also has negotiated and managed the development of numerous thermal and renewable electric generation facilities,” Gregory Bafalis, CEO of Aries, says. “Bob has also played an integral role in the structured financing of generation facilities valued in excess of $15 billion. I am delighted to bring his expertise to our growing company.”
As general counsel, Burke has managed corporate governance, government affairs and compliance initiatives on behalf of multinational companies, and has served on the boards of directors of private and publicly traded companies headquartered in the United States and abroad.
He has also served in leadership roles in a diverse spectrum of companies that has included Edison Mission Energy; PPL Global; Allentown, Pennsylvania; Competitive Power Ventures, Silver Spring, Maryland; and Vogt Power International, Louisville, Kentucky. Burke earned a bachelor’s degree from Providence College and his Juris Doctor from University of Virginia School of Law.
