ASGCO Manufacturing, Allentown, Pa., has introduced its patented Sure Grip conveyor belt clamps, which the company says offer exceptional belt clamping for all types of conveyor belt maintenance in a variety of working conditions. ASGCO says that its Sure Grip belt clamps are the only conveyor belt clamps that provide a positive even pressure across the entire width of the conveyor belt and do not require the belt to be pulled in order to apply pressure to the clamps. They are constructed from high-grade steel components that are lightweight, making it easy to transport and assemble, the company adds.
The Sure Grip belt clamps come in two versions:
- BC5 (5 ton): for medium duty coal and coal fired power plants; copper and gold mining; iron ore and steel mills; bulk shipping terminals; aggregate and cement and mineral mining; pulp and paper mills. The belt’s maximum thickness is one inch.
- BC7 (7 ton): for heavy duty wide conveyor belts in coal and coal fired power plants; copper and gold mining; iron ore and steel mills; and bulk shipping terminals. The clamp allows for a maximum belt thickness of two inches.
ASCO says its Sure Grip belt clamps are the only belt clamps that provide even tensioning across the entire belt width, meaning there is no need to inventory different clamp bars in different widths. The clamps are designed for use in any conditions and are easy to transport and assemble, according to the company. All parts are made of high grade, lightweight steel. The bolt is not removed from the clamp and the Sure Grip stays assembled to minimize damage/loss.
