BACE LLC, Charlotte, North Carolina, has announced that the U.S. Patent and Trade Office (USPTO) has issued the company a patent, US 10,564,029, granting BACE exclusive rights as the inventor of the “waste container with weight-measurement system.”
“As BACE continues to drive innovation and create unique products, we will expand our portfolio of patents to protect our intellectual property,” says Frederick Waite, BACE CEO. “This patent specifically protects our weight-based technology for compactors, giving BACE a competitive advantage as more customers seek the accountability and transparency that weight-based technology offers.”
He explains that the company’s Ecosystem, powered by its patented IntelliBACE Platform, ensures that compactors leave full and at the appropriate weight by automatically notifying haulers.
“In addition, the current state of OCC (old corrugated containers) pricing forces customers to maximize OCC revenue. Our Ecosystem integrates data from balers and compactors to deliver the business information necessary to implement waste and recycling programs that eliminate OCC from being thrown into the compactor, resulting in increased OCC revenue and decreased waste expenses,” Waite adds.
