BioFerm, a Madison, Wisconsin-based provider of anaerobic digestion and biogas upgrading solutions, has appointed Massimo De Vincenzi as CEO, effective Sept. 22.
With more than 20 years of experience in the energy, oil and gas sectors, De Vincenzi assumes the role as BioFerm’s previous President and CEO Nadeem Afghan transitions to president and chairman of the board. Afghan will oversee the company’s expansion, acquisitions and capital deployment.
“Massimo’s proven track record of business transformation, global leadership and commitment to sustainable growth makes him the ideal leader to guide BioFerm into its next chapter,” Afghan says. “His experience across energy transition and clean technologies aligns perfectly with our mission of delivering renewable energy solutions that create both environmental and economic value.”
De Vincenzi holds master’s degrees in mechanical engineering and business administration. Previously, he served as director of Honeywell-UOP’s modular equipment business, where he led growth across carbon capture, hydrogen, refining and renewables. According to BioFerm, De Vincenzi has deep experience in developing large-scale projects and working with international clients, including prior experience managing teams of more than 150 professionals across Italy, the United Arab Emirates and the U.S.
“I am honored to join BioFerm at such an exciting time,” De Vincenzi says. “BioFerm is uniquely positioned to help communities and industries embrace the clean energy transition. I look forward to working with our talented team to build on BioFerm’s strong foundation, expand our impact and deliver innovative solutions that support a sustainable future.”
