Busch Systems expands Project RISE initiative

Supplier of recycling, compost and waste containers Busch Systems International, Barrie, Ontario, has begun its second year of its Project RISE environmental charitable initiative. With every order, Busch Systems offers to donate on its customers’ behalves to one of five nonprofit organizations in the areas of forestry, climate, wildlife protection, water conservation and environmental education.

Bill Bradbury, chief operating officer for the company, says, “We have always had a strong focus on corporate social responsibility, specifically being an environmentally responsible company, and Project RISE allows us to further our efforts. We wanted to add additional value for our customers, and Project RISE gives us this opportunity. Our customers know by purchasing from Busch Systems they are partnering with the environment and an industry leader in sustainability.”

The five charities included in Project RISE are the National Wildlife Federation, Climate Solutions and, new this year, Freshwater Future, Student Conservation Association and Forest Recovery Canada.

“We are excited to add two Canadian charities to our roster and to add a new area of focus, environmental education,” Bradbury says.  

An optional program, Busch customer can participate in Project RISE upon completion of a purchase with Busch Systems. Once an order is placed, a redemption code is emailed to the customer, who can then decide which of the five charities to support at no additional cost.

Busch Systems has been designing and retailing recycling, waste and compost containers for more than 30 years. The company says all its products are recyclable and made in North America. Busch Systems also created the Resource Center, a recycling and waste collection analytics software application.
