The Centre (Pennsylvania) Daily Times reports that 55 Centre County businesses, schools and organizations received the Emerald Award at a Green Business Partnership Luncheon in April 2016.
The program was coordinated by the Centre County Recycling & Refuse Authority, the Centre Region Council of Governments and the Borough of State College.

- Coca-Cola’s (http://www.coca-colacompany.com/) Milesburg, Pennsylvania, plant, for recycling 100 percent of eligible materials;
- Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County ReStore (https://www.habitatgcc.org/restore), for diverting an average of 18,500 pounds of reusable goods from landfills each month;
- Harrison’s Wine Grill and Catering (http://www.harrisonsmenu.com/), for contributing 1,000 pounds of organic waste to the local composting initiative every month;
- KB Offset Printing Inc. (http://www.kboffset.com/), for saving $300 per month by reusing manufacturing consumables; and
- Weis Markets (https://www.weismarkets.com/), for exceeding its goal of a reduced carbon footprint, achieving 22.1 percent.
