CRRA appoints executive director

The California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA), Sacramento, has announced Jenna Abbott as its new executive director. Abbott’s selection follows a three-month search, during which CRRA says it was pleased to have had a rich pool of applicants from which to choose. Abbott will start Aug. 1, 2017, and will be based in Sacramento.

Abbott’s 35-year career spans leadership roles in both private and public sector companies as well as an 11-year stint as an entrepreneur. The board says it was impressed with her background, skill set and ability to create innovative solutions in her past leadership roles.

Rob Hilton, CRRA president says, “I am delighted that she has agreed to take the helm of the association.”

Abbott says, “I am so excited to be joining CRRA at such a pivotal time in its history. With the new professional certification program ready to roll out and our conference just around the corner, I can’t think of a better time to come aboard.”

She adds, “Historically, California has been a leader in the field of sustainability and zero waste and I am passionate about continuing to find innovative ways to make the CRRA the recognized expert in this arena. I look forward to meeting our members, sponsors and friends at CRRA's 41st Annual Tradeshow & Conference at Paradise Point, San Diego, Aug. 20-23 and to following up with some more intimate meetings over the next few months.”

The board of directors says is unanimous in our confidence that Abbott, with her unique blend of experience, talents and enthusiasm, is an outstanding fit for CRRA and the challenges and opportunities ahead.
