The Cobble Hill, British Columbia, Canada-based Coast Waste Management Association (CWMA) has announced it is searching for a new executive director.
The CWMA say it is seeking an “an energetic and engaged” person who can lead the organization, which it describes as being “based on beautiful Vancouver Island, an area known for its outstanding natural beauty and recreation opportunities.”
The CWMA describes as its mission to “foster environmental leadership and best practices by providing a forum for discussion, education and networking.” The organization has more than 160 members who collectively are “dedicated to improving waste and environmental management in coastal communities and across British Columbia,” according to the CWMA.
The executive director position of the CWMA has several responsibilities, including: planning member retention and growth initiatives and identifying funding opportunities; event planning; social media, website and other communication oversight; board and annual meeting oversight; and financial management and budgeting.
“Desirable qualifications include a strong background in communications and event planning and promotion, social media marketing, waste and resource management, or environmental sustainability, and experience in non-profit management,” states the CWMA. It adds, “The successful applicant will possess a Class 5 driver’s license and will be required to supply a police information check and a copy of [his or her] credentials.”
The CWMA does not possess a physical office, meaning the candidate will work from home or have access to an alternative workspace, with office expenses then being paid by the organization.
Candidates are encouraged to submit their resumes and cover letters by email to board@cwma.ca, with PDF copies being preferred.
