Mobile, Alabama-based EcoSouth Florida LLC, a Kinderhook Industries LLC, New York City, portfolio company, has announced its acquisition of Z’s Disposal LLC. Z’s Disposal is a roll-off waste collection company with a container-to-container transfer station located in Port Charlotte, Florida.
According to a release, this acquisition represents Kinderhook’s 94th environmental/business services transaction since the company’s inception.
“We are thrilled to advance our M&A (merger and acquisition) strategy and expand our geographic footprint into Port Charlotte. We believe Z’s Disposal not only provides a foothold in a new market but also sets the foundation for future growth in the region. This acquisition provides us desirable hauling assets as well as a transfer station to continue to feed our postcollection assets throughout Florida,” says Joe Burkel, CEO of EcoSouth Florida.
This acquisition follows EcoSouth’s purchase of A Waste and Recycling Inc., a Sarasota, Florida-based roll-off waste collection company with a transfer station, this March.
“Joe and his team continue to efficiently execute … the integration of our recent acquisitions. We are excited to further support EcoSouth Florida and allow the company to bring its expertise and service culture to a new market. We expect that by providing the necessary capital resources, we can continue to improve customer experience and professionalize infrastructure within the platform,” says Corwynne Carruthers, a managing director for Kinderhook.
Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, Washington, served as legal counsel to EcoSouth Florida. Financing for the transaction was provided by Comerica Bank, Dallas.
