The Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF) is hosting a one-day summit focusing on landfill leachate issues. The event has been scheduled for May 8, 2017, and will be held in New Orleans the day before the start of the WasteExpo event.
The day-long look at leachate management is being billed as an EREF Summit. According to EREF, the summit “will bring together practicing engineers, academics, industry professionals, government personnel, and policy makers for in-depth discussions on topics related to landfill leachate treatment and management.”
Among the topics and speakers at the summit are:
- State of Leachate Management and Treatment in the United States, with presenters Bryan Staley and Stephanie Bolyard, both EREF staff members;
- Leachate Treatment & Management: An Industry Perspective, with presenter Michael Darnell of Phoenix- based Republic Services Inc.;
- Leachate Management: Responding to the Unexpected, with presenter Brian Brazil of Houston-based Waste Management Inc.; and
- Leachate Treatment in an Era of Enhanced Discharge Limits, with presenter Patrick Stanford of Rochem Americas Inc.
