Fecon introduces new depth control rotor system for mulch

Fecon Inc., Lebanon, Ohio, has introduced the Depth Control Rotor (DCR) system, which the company says brings a new level of performance and value to mulching, controlling the depth of bite and directing material flow so that energy is reserved for production. DCR cuts quickly, delivering better fuel economy and more uniform particle size, Fecon says. The DCR system builds on Fecon’s reversible Samurai knife tool, the company adds.

Depth control rings of the DCR system work with the Samurai knife to enable more cutting with less horsepower. The shape of the Samurai knife edge slices as it chips, providing greater forgiveness on rock than straight-edged tools or saw teeth, says Fecon. Depth control rings lend further impact protection to the tool body, and reduces shock loading to the mechanical or hydraulic drive line.

Fecon says it expects DCR will be available in skid steer model mulching attachments and most PTO and hydraulic prime mover models in 2014.
