Syracuse, New York-based Feher Rubbish Removal, a waste hauling firm that closed in early May 2018, is the defendant in a lawsuit filed by Solvay Bank, also based in the Syracuse area, which claims the company and its owner, Larry Feher, owe at least $2.8 million to the bank and other parties.
According to an online article by Syracuse.com, the bank is asking the New York State Supreme Court to appoint a receiver for the company to collect the income generated from the liquidation of the assets.
In the court papers, Solvay Bank indicates Feher Rubbish owes about $2.8 million to the following creditors:
- more than $1.4 million to the New York State Department of Labor to cover wages owed workers, plus possible interest and penalties;
- about $675,000 to the Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency;
- approximately $500,000 in notes, lines of credit and credit cards to Solvay Bank; and
- about $240,000 to American Express credit card company, which has obtained a judgment against the company.
The article adds that court records also show the company owes an additional $200,000 to two fuel companies.
