Fornnax Technology Pvt. Ltd., an India-based manufacturer of recycling equipment, has launched its R-Max3300, which it calls the world’s largest secondary shredder in its class. The shredder was unveiled at the 2025 IFAT India meeting, Oct. 14 in Mumbai, with industry leaders performing a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The R-Max3300 builds on the preceding R Series secondary shredder, which was designed for use with high-density materials like tires and cables. It is engineered for handling low-density waste streams, including municipal solid waste (MSW), commercial and industrial waste, construction and demolition waste, bulky waste, legacy waste and wood waste.
According to Fornnax, the new model enables production of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and solid recovered fuel (SRF) within a particle size range of 30-50 millimeters. It is also equipped to handle high-throughput processing of pre-shredded or coarse materials, intended for use in applications such as RDF/SRF production, composting pre-treatment and volume reduction. The company anticipates it will play a role in integrated waste management projects and bio-mining operations in India and globally, offering a solution for cement alternative fuels for reuse plants and waste-to-energy facilities.
“The R-Max3300 represents a monumental leap forward in our vision to become a global leader by 2030 in recycling technology through innovation,” Fornnax Director and CEO Jignesh Kundaria says. “With the rising challenges of waste management in India and globally, this machine is not just a product; it’s a powerful tool for change. We engineered it to handle the most difficult waste streams with unparalleled efficiency, turning what was once considered unusable waste into a valuable resource. It directly addresses the urgent demand for effective, large-scale shredding technology that can support cement kilns and waste-to-energy facilities in achieving the desired output.”
At present, India generates more than 160,000 tons of MSW daily. Government-led initiatives such as the Swachh Bharat Mission and Smart Cities have accelerated demand for RDF and waste-to-energy solutions, Fornnax says.
“Our commitment goes beyond just selling machinery; it's about empowering our customers to achieve lasting efficiency, sustainability and growth,” Kundaria says. “We see ourselves as a trusted partner who stands beside them at every step — from technology deployment to ongoing support—ensuring they can rely on Fornnax not only for performance but also for consistency, dependability and long-term value.”
