An article by The River City News, Covington, Kentucky, reports that Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, will make alterations to its curbside collection program.
The city council voted Monday, July 18, 2016, in favor of a one-year contract with Seymour, Indiana-based Best Way Disposal to collect garbage and recyclables once per week. It also voted to raise the monthly waste management fee from $14.80 to $17.53.
“I look around, and I see other surrounding cities that only have their trash picked up once per week,” Council Member Beth Rose said at the meeting, according to the article. “And it works. I say we try for one year to see if it can work here, too.”
The new contract will take effect in August 2016.
