Fulcrum BioEnergy Inc., a waste-to-energy company based in Pleasanton, California, has appointed Greg Heinlein as its vice president and chief financial officer.
The company says Heinlein brings with him more than 30 years of financial experience. He has worked for both private and public companies in the chemical, environmental solutions and technology industries. In his new position, Heinlein will be responsible for corporate financial affairs, including fundraising and support of key strategic relationships.
“Greg brings a level of leadership and experience needed to guide and support Fulcrum’s continued growth, shaping the future success of the business,” says Eric Pryor, president and CEO of Fulcrum. “Having raised more than $30 billion in both public and private entities, Greg’s expertise will help Fulcrum deliver on our vision to build many more waste-to-fuel plants across North America and select countries worldwide.”
Heinlein’s addition comes as Fulcrum has recently completed construction on its biofuels plant in Sierra, Nevada. Fuel production at Sierra is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of the year and convert about 175,000 tons of prepared waste feedstock into approximately 11 million gallons of zero-carbon synthetic crude oil annually.
