The global waste management industry is forecast to swell past $560 billion by 2020, making it one of the most “swiftly developing markets,” according to a new report from Statista.com.
The report, “Projected global waste management market size from 2010 to 2020,” attributes several factors to the industry’s projected growth.
One of those factors is the development of innovative technologies and advanced waste collection solutions to enhance collection processes and aid in developing a more green planet. The report specifically addresses the opportunity for the emergence of smart solutions that can increase the efficiency and quality of collection services.
In addition to technological advancements, some of the other prominent trends that the market is witnessing include expanding medical waste management services, a lack of stringent regulations in developing countries and rising government initiatives.
