Grayson Thermal Systems has delivered the 10,000th engine cooling pack for Dennis Eagle’s Elite Euro 6-compliant refuse collection vehicle platforms.

The milestone highlights a 20-year partnership between Grayson, a Birmingham, England-based designer and manufacturer of heating and cooling systems for original equipment manufacturers, and Dennis Eagle, a designer and manufacturer of refuse collection vehicles based in Warwick, England.

Dennis Eagle is part of the Royal Terberg Group and produces bodies, chassis and bin lifts. The company provides more than 1,200 vehicles to local authorities and private sector contractors in the United Kingdom each year. Grayson began supplying its coolers for Dennis Eagle’s Elite 2 Euro 5 in 2005, continuing through to the Euro 6-compliant Elite 6, launched in 2014, and its Elite+, launched in 2022.

The Elite 6 and Elite+ platforms are powered by Volvo Penta MDE8 280HP and 320HP diesel engines and were developed to meet Euro 6 emissions standards and enhance driver safety. Grayson was reselected in 2012 to design and manufacture a bespoke, compact under-cab cooling module capable of maintaining thermal stability under stop–start conditions. Building on its experience from the Elite 2 project, Grayson says it engineered the new system to deliver reliable thermal performance within challenging packaging and airflow constraints.

Since entering production, the Grayson-designed cooler has supported municipal and commercial fleets worldwide, including across Dennis Eagle’s Euro 6 vehicle range with more than 1,000 units produced in 2025 alone.

“Reaching 10,000 units supplied to Dennis Eagle is a proud moment for everyone at Grayson. It reflects not just the success of a single product, but the strength of a partnership built on trust, consistency and shared standards of quality,” Grayson Managing Director Stuart Hateley says. “Dennis Eagle is recognized as one of the most respected names in the refuse vehicle sector, and we’re proud to have supported them over the past 20 years as a dependable and responsive supplier. For us, reliability goes beyond product performance: it’s about being there for our customers, adapting to their evolving needs and continually earning their confidence through engineering excellence.”

According to Grayson, the company continues to collaborate with Dennis Eagle on future vehicle platforms while supporting other leading manufacturers across the commercial, special and off-highway vehicle sectors.

“Grayson has consistently delivered high-quality cooling solutions that meet the rigorous demands of our refuse collection vehicles, helping to ensure our customers’ fleets operate efficiently and safely,” says Chris Benton, head of purchasing and supply chain at Dennis Eagle. “Grayson’s thermal management expertise and its team’s commitment to outstanding engineering, quality and reliability have made it a valued supplier. Achieving the 10,000-unit milestone and sustaining a partnership for over two decades underscores the strength and excellence of this collaboration.”
