ISWA, Be Waste Wise sign training partnership

The Austria-based International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) and nonprofit group Be Waste Wise have announced a partnership designed to jointly create and broadcast a series of online training programs addressing global waste challenges.

The online training will use Be Waste Wise’s platform to bring ISWA’s expertise to a digital audience and influence the global discussion on wastes, resources and the circular economy, state the two groups. The training programs will cover a range of topics related to the waste and recycling industries.

“Our cooperation will stimulate easy and free access to ISWA’s expertise and vast scientific and technical resources,” says ISWA President Antonis Mavropoulos. “We hope that we will be able to make thousands of professionals, scientists, researchers and students, especially in the developing world, more Waste Wise.”

The first online training session will be Feb. 15, 2018, with Antonis Mavropoulos discussing the impact of China’s recent import ban on certain recyclable commodities.

The ISWA describes itself as an organization that promotes effective waste management practices for a global audience.
