Komar Industries, a designer and manufacturer of industrial waste and recycling processing systems based in Groveport, Ohio, has acquired Winter Equipment Corp., a distributor of waste handling and recycling equipment headquartered in Columbia, Pennsylvania.
Operating in the eastern United States since 1992, Winter sells and installs new and used equipment from leading waste and recycling equipment manufacturers including Komar, PTR Baler & Compactor Co. (PTR) and more. In addition, Winter says it services field equipment and refurbishes used equipment that is either sold or placed into a large rental fleet.

“Winter has been a valued channel partner since 1992 by offering complementary products and services that expand the value we jointly deliver to our customers,” says Komar President and CEO Mark Koenig. “Mark and Tammy O’Neal have built a great business that addresses the full lifecycle of our equipment, from sales and installation to service and rentals.”
Winter owner and CEO Mark O’Neal says his company is excited about the growth opportunities that lie ahead while working with Komar. “We have been proud to promote Komar’s family of products, which continue to represent the highest quality and lowest cost of ownership on the market.”
Komar provides a comprehensive range of products, including horizontal and vertical balers; auger, stationary and self-contained compactors; industrial shredders; continuous feed systems; flatteners; dewatering systems; and organic separation presses.
The acquisition of Winter is Komar’s fourth since December 2022, when it announced its purchase of Charlotte, North Carolina-based baler and compactor manufacturer Bace. In January of this year, Komar acquired Philadelphia-based PTR and followed it up with the February purchase of Maren Engineering Corp., a baling and shredding systems manufacturer based in South Holland, Illinois.
