Lytx sells 300,000 new subscriptions in three-year period

The company says it has reached half a million total subscriptions.


Lytx, a fleet management technology company based in San Diego, has sold 300,000 new subscriptions over a three-year period, reaching half a million total subscriptions.

In 2017, the company launched the Lytx Video Services program, an integrated service enhancement to the DriveCam program. It uses video telematics to give fleet and operations managers access to cloud-connected, continually recorded video, available on demand and in near real-time.

“By introducing key enhancements to our DriveCam program last year, we set out to change the way video works for our clients,” Brandon Nixon, Lytx chairman and CEO, says. “We are driven by our mission to not only help our clients protect their drivers and brand reputations, but also to help them improve their operations and succeed in their industries. Looking ahead, we will continue to innovate in new ways to help our clients solve their most pressing business challenges.”

In 2017, Lytx says it has:

  • sold more than 95,000 new subscriptions in 2017, bringing total subscriptions sold to more than 500,000;
  • expanded the fleet deployments of more than half of its existing clients for the third year in a row;
  • introduced the Lytx Video Services program;
  • experienced double-digit growth in subscriptions for the 37th consecutive quarter;
  • committed more than $200 million in total contract value in 2017;
  • delivered an estimated savings of $494.4 million in total claims costs; and
  • analyzed more than 20 billion miles of driving data.

Lytx says it furthered its share of key commercial and public fleet categories in 2017, and now protects:

  • 10 of the top 15 for-hire, less-than-truckload and truckload carriers;
  • 10 of the top 15 food-product distribution companies;
  • 9 of the top 15 transit and railroad companies;
  • 9 of the top 15 concrete companies;
  • 9 of the largest cities and federal agencies;
  • 7 of the top 15 largest propane distribution and gas distribution companies;
  • 6 of the top 15 waste, disposal and recycling companies; and
  • 5 of the top 15 utilities companies.
