The Department of the Environment of Prince George’s County in Largo, Maryland, says as of this month, its new “Clear the Curb” collection campaign will offer new options for residents receiving county-contracted trash and recycling pickup service.
The new services increase the number of acceptable curbside bulky trash items per collection day from two to four and introduces a monthly curbside scrap metal and electronics recycling pickup option.
“These enhanced services will continue modernizing and streamlining the county’s current residential collection services,” the department says.
Tied to the new limit of up to four bulky items per collection, residents could choose instead to place up to four tightly secured bags with small household items next to their trash cart for pickup. The new curbside scrap metal and electronics recycling collection will be offered every third Monday of the month by appointment only.
The first day of that service begins July 15 and scheduling takes place via a county website or by phone. Scrap tires, white goods and other appliances will continue to be scheduled for pickup through a county website.
