Mazza Recycling nears completion of New Jersey MRF

Mazza Recycling, Tinton Falls, New Jersey, is nearing completion of its new 70,000-square-foot single-stream material recovery facility (MRF), New Jersey Business reports.

The facility, which will boast a positive sort infrastructure and incorporate optical sorting technology, is part of the company’s $15 million commitment to improving recycling in the city.

In addition to opening the facility later this summer, Mazza Recycling is planning on introducing its Greener Tomorrow Program, which is aimed at educating schools, organizations and residents on proper recycling practices. This program will include site tours of the MRF as well as community outreach events.

“Consumers, producers, packers and manufacturers all have a responsibility to our planet and future generations. If people are misinformed about the proper ways to recycle, then our goal to eliminate waste will not make as large of an impact. We believe that it is important to educate the youth on the importance of recycling and the proper items that can be recycled. By investing in this facility and speaking about it in schools and at local community events, we hope to increase awareness about recycling to people who are not handling their recyclable materials properly,” Christian Morgan, MRF plant manager for Mazza Recycling, says.
