Montrose Environmental Group Inc., an environmental solutions company headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas, has appointed James Laws as chief operating officer (COO).
Laws has 25 years of experience leading teams in the environmental industry and a proven ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary businesses, Montrose says.
Prior to joining Montrose, Law spent nearly a decade at Dallas-based Aecom, most recently as senior vice president, with responsibility across environmental remediation, environmental health and safety, permitting and planning, air quality and large-scale federal programs.
In the role of COO, Laws will oversee all business line operations across the company and enhance organizational efficiency, Montrose says. He will report directly to Vijay Manthripragada, CEO and director of the company.
“We are thrilled to welcome James, whose deep industry expertise and operational leadership will be invaluable to Montrose,” Manthripragada says. “His alignment with our mission and demonstrated ability to deliver results will further our goals. James’ appointment reinforces our commitment to excellence, ensuring we consistently meet the highest standards for our clients, employees and shareholders.”
Earlier in his career, Laws spent 16 years at Dallas-based CH2M Hill (now Jacobs Solutions Inc.), leading large federal and commercial environmental programs, including Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Defense contracts. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Southern California.
“Joining Montrose presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to an innovative organization recognized for its thought leadership and purpose-driven culture,” Laws says. “Throughout my career, I have seen the incredible difference that focused, collaborative teams can deliver. I am eager to work with the Montrose team to help transform the environmental industry and provide market leading solutions.”
