National Recycling Congress to be held in December

The National Recycling Coalition (NRC), Loveland, Colorado, will host its annual conference, the National Recycling Congress, Dec. 5-6 as a virtual event.

The two-day event will feature approximately 60 speakers covering a wide range of topics, including the rise of circularity, environmental justice, diversity, inclusivity and equity, federal funding for climate protection and food service reuse systems breakthroughs.

“The National Recycling Coalition is once again bringing together professional and exciting opportunities for attendees, as we have over the last 40 years of producing the Recycling Congress,” NRC President Leslie Lukacs says. “We are very pleased to incorporate a number of important sessions addressing diversity, equity and inclusivity for our industry.”

In the weeks leading up to the virtual event, NRC will publish speaker spotlights on its LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.

Speakers include Steven Stone of the United Nations Environment Programme, who will address the U.N.’s Turning Off the Tap report on global plastic pollution. Jonathan Black, senior director for chemical safety and plastic pollution for the White House Council on Environmental Quality, and Nena Shaw, director of resource conservation and sustainability at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, also will be speaking.
