The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) announced on June 25 that it is partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on a national initiative to address inequality of opportunity.
NWRA will join the U.S. Chamber’s national townhall event on June 25 where business and community leaders will discuss actions that can be taken by government and private sector entities to address inequality through education, employment, entrepreneurship and criminal justice reform. As a partner on this initiative, NWRA says it will also host local and industry dialogues to further the discussion.
“NWRA is proud to support the efforts of the U.S. Chamber to address inequality. We realize that our industry has an influential voice, and we want to contribute to the discourse,” NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith says.
“The moral case for greater diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace is indisputable, and there’s overwhelming evidence that greater diversity benefits the American economy, businesses, communities and employees,” U.S. Chamber President Suzanne Clark says. “We are proud to partner with NWRA on this initiative and help develop a robust plan of action.”
