The National Waste and Recycling Association (NWRA), Arlington, Virginia, announced winners across three categories March 28 for contributions in support of the waste and recycling industry. The awards encompass the Members of the Year, the Chapter Leadership award and the Distinguished service award.
Members of the Year are selected based upon extraordinary service to the mission and goals of NWRA and the industry over the past year. Chapter Leadership awards are presented to members whose contributions to a chapter were particularly meritorious. Distinguished Service awards are presented to longstanding members of NWRA who render service in pursuit of its mission and goals. The award recognizes the highest spirit of volunteerism, personal integrity, professionalism and performance in an honorable and ethical manner.
The award winners will be officially recognized at WasteExpo 2018 during the Awards Breakfast.

- Jeff Edwards, owner of Evergreen Disposal, Waldorf, Maryland
- Selin Hoboy, vice president of legislative and regulatory affairs for Stericycle Inc., Lake Forest, Illinois
- Will Flower, vice president, Winter Bros. Waste Systems, Danbury, Connecticut
- Ed Spinella, partner in the law firm of Law Offices of Edward F. Spinella, Esq. LLC, Enfield, Connecticut
- Larry Weigman, Southeast regional sales manager at Schaefer Systems International, Charlotte, North Carolina
