The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) has awarded $5.9 million in Recycle Ohio Grants to 147 grant recipients across the state, with more than $2.9 million specifically for community and litter prevention programs.
Governments, businesses, schools and nonprofits across Ohio are set to receive grant funding. Funding will provide litter prevention and cleanup programs, education and outreach, scrap tire collection, recycling market development and expansion of recycling facilities and infrastructure, Ohio EPA says.

Organizations in northeast Ohio were granted $1.6 million, organizations in central Ohio were granted $1.5 million, organizations in southwest Ohio were granted $1.3 million, organizations in northwest Ohio were granted $1.2 million and organizations in southeast Ohio were granted $312,000.
