Power Knot LLC’s latest generation LFC-IX biodigester machines have received certification by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
The Fremont, California-based organic waste management solutions company produces the LFC biodigester, a fully automated, on-site machine that digests food waste. The models process between 25-13,200 pounds of food waste daily, aiming to significantly reduce landfill contributions and greenhouse gas emissions.
Receiving certification affirms that the LFC-IX range of biodigesters meets the testing, auditing and compliance standards established by NSF.
The organization evaluates designs, materials and operational safety under criteria such as structural integrity, durability, sanitation and performance. According to Power Knot, many municipal, educational, hospital and food service institutions require or prefer use of NSF-certified equipment. Certification simplifies adoption of technologies by large organizations, government bodies and international markets.
With the certification, Power Knot says it plans to accelerate deployment of LFC biodigesters across a range of industrial and municipal applications.
“Achieving NSF certification is a major endorsement of our technology's engineering and quality manufacturing,” Power Knot President Iain Milnes says. “This certification underscores our dedication to delivering environmentally responsible organic waste solutions that communities and institutions can trust.”
