Recycle Coach, a Toronto-based provider of waste management and circular economy solutions, has announced its expansion into the United Kingdom through a partnership with Bartec Municipal Technologies, a provider of municipal waste management software in the U.K.
Bartec will serve as Recycle Coach's distribution partner across the U.K. as the companies aim to create a positive impact across waste and recycling education.
“This partnership marks a defining moment for Recycle Coach as we expand internationally and take the next step forward in our mission to make recycling education accessible to every household,” says Recycle Coach CEO Jeff Galas. “By combining Bartec’s deep understanding of local challenges with our resident engagement platform, we’re building an ironclad connection between how councils manage waste and how residents can recycle better.”
Bartec's collective platform powers waste and recycling operations for a third of all U.K. councils, supporting collection operations, optimization and service analytics.
Recycle Coach brings a resident-facing engagement solution, delivering personalized recycling guidance, collection reminders, and behavior-change tools that can help residents participate more effectively in local programs.
Together, the companies say they aim to offer U.K. councils a more complete approach to waste services by combining operational software with resident engagement, all working toward the U.K. government's target of a 65 percent recycling rate by 2035.
“The U.K. is entering a phase of great change in municipal recycling, collecting more materials in new ways,” says Bartec CEO Tim Hobbs. “For councils to succeed in delivering these changes they need to inform and inspire residents and engage on whatever channels residents are using. Apps and online services are a huge part of that. Recycle Coach will be a nationally recognized source of information for citizens across the U.K.”
