Phoenix-based Republic Services’ Richmond and Pacheco, California, offices were recognized at the 7th Annual East Bay Philanthropy Awards.
Presented by the Sanford Institute for Philanthropy, La Jolla, California, and Wells Fargo, San Francisco, the East Bay Philanthropy Awards were created to honor the people, businesses, and service organizations that give back to the East Bay community. The East Bay Leadership Council, the Walnut Creek, California, organization in charge of the awards, say it is thrilled to help recognize such an exceptional class of honorees.
Republic Services was given the Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist award. A selection committee made up of local elected officials, community advocates, employer representatives and nonprofit leaders reviewed more than fifty nominations submitted by nonprofits who shared a personal narrative explaining the nominee’s contribution to the East Bay community.
The East Bay Leadership Council is a public policy advocacy organization with a mission to increase economic vitality and quality of life in East Bay.
