Waste management company Republic Services Inc., based in Phoenix, has named Robert Maruster executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Maruster will be responsible for Republic’s field operations, which include 170 business units encompassing 29,000 employees in 39 states and Puerto Rico; 336 collection operations; 199 transfer stations; 190 active landfill operations; and 64 recycling facilities. Additionally, Maruster will be responsible for the company’s safety and environmental compliance, operations support and fleet management. He will report to Don Slager, Republic’s president and CEO.

Maruster joins Republic from JetBlue Airways Corp., where he was the airline’s executive vice president and COO.
