Returnity, a New York-based company offering reusable shipping solutions, has partnered with Nevada-based Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) to launch In Rotation, a program at the beauty industry’s premier trade event, which took place July 15–17 in Las Vegas.
The initiative featured designated collection bins throughout the show floor, allowing attendees and exhibitors to drop off unused or unwanted reusable bags. The goal is to reduce postevent waste and extend the life cycle of materials already in circulation.
According to Returnity, reuseable bags have become increasingly essential at trade shows. However, with over 10 billion bags produced annually, many end up forgotten or discarded. Returnity says this partnership aims to promote the continued use of reuseable bags and keep them out of the waste stream.
“Reusable bags were created to address the single-use plastic problem, but overproduction and underuse have led to a new challenge,” Returnity CEO Mike Newman says. “By collaborating with CPNA to bring In Rotation to the show floor, we are making it easy for attendees and exhibitors to be part of the solution.”
The collected bags will be cleaned, redistributed by Returnity and donated to charitable partners.
This initiative complements Returnity’s broader efforts in sustainable packaging, including The Last Box, a reusable shipping system designed to replace cardboard in retail and e-commerce supply chains.
“Sustainability is a key focus for CPNA, and our partnership with Returnity aligns perfectly with our values,” CPNA Vice President Liza Rapay says. “We’re proud to provide a simple, meaningful way for our community to reduce waste and participate in a circular solution."
