Rubicon Global, an Atlanta-based technology company providing waste, recycling and smart city solutions to businesses and governments, kicked off America Recycles Day Nov. 15 by announcing it has launched a new eCommerce marketplace designed to give consumers and small businesses access to resources needed to build their own recycling and sustainability programs from the ground up.
The RUBICONMarketplace is now live with recycling bins from Ontario, Canada-based CleanRiver Recycling Solutions; 100 percent compostable bin liners from New York-based Commit to Green; and mail-in recycling programs from Trenton, New Jersey-based TerraCycle as part of the site’s first round of product and service offerings.
“We’ve heard great feedback from consumers and small businesses across the United States where many of them are actively looking to get started on waste and recycling programs and need the physical assets like bins, liners and mail-in recycling programs,” David Rachelson, vice president of sustainability for Rubicon Global, says. “We’ve partnered with some amazing companies like CleanRiver, Commit To Green and TerraCycle who have very similar philosophies to Rubicon’s mission to end waste. As we celebrate and drive education around America Recycles Day, we’re so proud of this initial RUBICONMarketplace and look forward to adding new products and partners in the months to come.”
In addition to the products already being offered, users can log on to the website and download the RUBICONMethod, a step-by-step guide that can help consumers or small businesses establish a waste reduction or recycling program for free. In the coming months, additional partnerships and products will be added to the marketplace, the company says.
“On a day as important as America Recycles Day, we are extremely excited to be partnering with Rubicon,” Stephen Pickett, senior director of sales at CleanRiver Recycling Solutions, says. “Getting the message out on the continuing importance to recycle and the effects of doing it properly remains a top priority, and we can’t think of a better way to support this initiative than to work with Rubicon.”
“We are thrilled to be part of this inaugural launch of the RUBICONMarketplace. To have our products featured alongside companies whom we have recognized as some of the most leading-edge in the zero-waste and recycling space is truly an honor,” Shien-ru Tsao, founder and CEO of Commit To Green, says. “An e-commerce platform like this will provide education, instruction and the right tools to get started, helping to galvanize and build traction for future recycling and sustainability programs.”
“We are excited to expand our relationship with Rubicon as a founding member of the RUBICONMarketplace,” Tom Szaky, CEO of TerraCycle, says. “The inclusion of our innovative Zero Waste Box programs on the eCommerce site offers those interested in promoting recycling an easy and convenient way to recycle hard-to-recycle items like coffee capsules, candy wrappers and batteries, to name just a few of the programs currently available.”
