An employee died in a Dec. 4 accident at a landfill in San Antonio, Texas, a report by KSAT 12 says. The employee was later identified as Luis Antonio Flores, he was 47 years old.
Flores worked at the Tessman Road Landfill owned by Phoenix-based Republic Services. The report says he was found caught in a hydraulic arm used to operating the netting that covers the truck’s load. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office says in the report Flores died of a cervical spine fracture and accidental asphyxiation.
San Antonio Police Officer Carlos Ortiz says in the report Flores signed in at around 9:45 a.m. Dec. 4 to discard some waste at the landfill. His body was found soon after, next to his collection truck.
The report says there were no witnesses to the accident.
