California County Picks SCS Engineers for Landfill Gas Contract

California’s San Bernardino County has selected SCS Engineers to support three landfill gas extraction and treatment systems over three years. The project scope includes environmental engineering support services for the entire county.

The contract, estimated to be around $14.8 million, will cover the operations, maintenance and monitoring of the landfill gas extraction and treatment systems located at landfills in Colton, Mid-Valley and Milliken, as well as on-call nonroutine landfill gas engineering services at all 39 of the county’s active and closed landfills.

Heading the project for SCS will be Robert Legaspi, project engineer at SCS’s Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., office. SCS’s Long Beach office will provide engineering support.

“Solid waste and landfill gas services are an important niche for SCS Engineers and this contract fits in well with our portfolio of work,” says Legaspi. “Complying with the many regulations governing the control of landfill gas requires both experience and technical know-how, and we are happy to apply our expertise in support of San Bernardino County in this area.”
