Screen USA trommel designed for easy maintenance access

Screen USA Inc., Smyrna, Georgia, has introduced the TROM512 as the newest model in its trommel screen lineup. The company says the TROM512 has been developed “to fill a niche in the screening market and has many features not seen on any other equipment in this price range.”

Cohen says “easy access” is a common request of customers and SCREEN USA “has delivered in a big way.”

The TROM512 is made with two large hinged doors that open up on each side to provide access to the trommel screen and the drive system. “Once the doors are open you can see the entire drum and the drum can be easily removed by simply pulling it out the side of the machine,” says Cohen. He says this feature “differentiates SCREEN USA from all other competitors in this price range.”

Additional doors provide accessibility to the engine department to all bearings that require maintenance, according to the company. Other features include:

• a 3.2-yard hopper that is 39 inches wide with a variable speed feeder;
• the five-feet-by-12-feet trommel screen that comes with a built-on fines conveyor;
• an optional built-on overs conveyor;
• a 60 hp engine made by Caterpillar Inc.;
• and both wheeled and tracked platforms are available.

“We anticipate the track-mounted trommel to be our number one seller, however, time will tell,” says Cohen. “As for price, Screen USA is selling factory-direct to eliminate the typical 20-to-25 percent mark-up of the dealer,” he adds.
