Sustainable Energy Strategies Inc. (SESI), a Lubbock, Texas-based provider of consulting services to the alternative fuel industry, has hired David Gelman as its new vice president. He will focus on expanding the company’s support services for federal clients.
“Dave is highly respected for his creative solutions to technical and regulatory issues impacting the alternative fuels industry. He will be a valuable asset to our organization,” says Jill Hamilton, president of SESI.
Gelman has more than 30 years of consulting experience, including extensive insight and knowledge about the federal alternative fuel programs, SESI says. He was involved in launching three of the largest federally sponsored alternative fuel vehicle efforts: the Clean Cities, State and Alternative Fuel Provider Fleet and the Federal Fleet Programs.
He also has supported a number of alternative fuel, energy efficiency, renewable energy and emissions control programs for the U.S. Department of Energy and the national laboratories, the Department of Transportation, the Environmental Protection Agency and several other state and nonprofit organizations. In particular, SESI says, his work has focused on the intersection of technology and policy and has included extensive technical analyses of advanced transportation and energy technologies as well as development and implementation of legislatively-established regulatory programs.
His project experience has involved natural gas, electric, hybrid, ethanol, methanol, propane and biodiesel vehicles and fuels and also has included advanced vehicle demonstrations, data collection and conceptual designs.
SESI says its efforts have focused on assisting alternative transportation fuels for transportation industry members and other sectors move toward market readiness and greater utilization once in the market.
