Steinert
Steinert, Cologne, Germany, plans to host an online seminar titled Intelligent Digital Solutions for Waste Recycling to present its experience and developments in the digitalization of the recycling industry. Steinert says the seminar will provide insights into how Europe’s largest sorting plant for lightweight packaging was made manageable by using data.
“There is a call for larger, more complex sorting facilities as a result of greater financial pressure, stricter requirements based on the legally required recycling rates and the materials in material flows comprising multiple layers,” Steinert states. “Facilities which are well-utilized, easy to monitor and quick to maintain are absolutely essential for smooth-running and economically viable sorting processes. Data is considered the answer to previously unsolved challenges in the recycling industry.”
Hendrik Beel, managing director of Steinert UniSort, will explain this topic during the seminar. Using practical examples, he will demonstrate how Steinert has developed solutions for efficient sorting facilities, Steinert states in a news release on the upcoming seminar. Attendees will learn about hyperspectral imaging (HSI) technology and how it makes the UniSort sorting plant manageable.
The 45-minute seminar takes place Feb. 26 at 9 a.m. Central European Time in English and at 11 a.m. Central European Time in German. Registration for the online seminar is free and is now open.
