The Recycling Partnership, based in Falls Church, Virginia, in association with Resource Recycling Inc. has announced it is accepting applications for its Steve Thompson Memorial Grants, which provide free travel, accommodations and registration for the 2017 Resource Recycling Conference, Aug. 28-30 in Minneapolis.
The Recycling Partnership describes Steve Thompson as a committed recycling champion who worked tirelessly to move the industry forward and. The Recycling Partnership and Resource Recycling are honoring him and his life’s work by offering these grants for the second consecutive year to recycling professionals.
Last year, 10 grants were offered. This year, The Recycling Partnership says it is investing $50,000 in grants to the eighth annual Resource Recycling Conference.
“Our industry is constantly evolving and ensuring that recycling officials at the local level stay up to speed is key to a healthier recycling system,” says Keefe Harrison, The Recycling Partnership CEO. “That’s why we’re so pleased to offer these exciting new education grants. They’ll enable recyclers from all across the country who couldn’t otherwise attend a chance to meet with peers, share new best management practices and join The Recycling Partnership team at the Resource Recycling Conference.”
